William Wiebe lives and works in New York. Recent exhibitions include the Singapore Art Museum; the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, New York; NeMe Arts Centre, Cyprus; 062 Gallery, Chicago; the National Academy of Sciences, Washington, DC; Links Hall, Chicago; and Southern Exposure, San Francisco. He has received fellowships from the Fulbright Foundation, the Cyprus University of Technology, and the University of Chicago's Arts, Science & Culture Initiative, with additional support from Friends With Benefits, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and the Khachig Tölölyan Fund for the Study of Diasporas and Transnationalism, among others. He holds a BA from Wesleyan University, an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and he was a participant in the Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program.
